Facilities for practicing your favorite water sport are available at many
of the beaches in Acapulco. Water-skiing, surfing, rowing, swimming, riding
the "banana" and jet-skiing can be done from beaches like Puerto
Marqués, Caleta and Caletilla.
International Children´s Amusement Center
This is one of the largest aquatic parks in México. It has an impressive water slide, an enormous pool with gigantic waves, boat trips, and seal and dolphin shows.
Caleta
Caleta is perhaps the most popular beach in the bay. Its gentle waves and moderate slope make it ideal for water sports enthusiasts. It also boasts spectacular sunsets.
Caletilla
This is an extremely popular beach because it is so safe. It is also the site of the New Magical Sea World, a center of marine displays.
Icacos
This extensive beach, with different types of waves, is excellent for swimming, particularly in the morning.
Isla de la Roqueta
The beaches on this island are calm and safe for swimming. You can either go snorkeling or visit the zoo with exotic species. It is located just one kilometer south of Caleta and Caletilla. Visiting the island is one of the most traditional activities in Acapulco.
La Condesa
This internationally renowned beach has a medium slope and medium to strong waves. It is a favorite meeting place for young water sports enthusiasts.
Laguna de Chautengo
Laguna Chautengo is 117 km southeast of Acapulco and lies between the sea and a natural sandbank. Boats can be hired to explore the Mangrove swamps inhabited by herons, seagulls and other sea birds.
Laguna de Coyuca
Laguna de Coyuca is located 13 km outside Acapulco on the way to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo. Its landscape contrasts sharply with that of Acapulco. The lagoon is an exotic estuary with lush tropical vegetation, wild fauna and small islands.
La Quebrada

Daring divers jump from this stunning cliff and plunge into the sea. It is one of the port´s most famous and spectacular attractions, especially at night, when divers carrying lighted torches hurl themselves off the cliffs. It is located 3 km outside of Caleta on Av. López Mateos.
Pie de la Cuesta
This beautiful beach is 10 km northeast of Acapulco facing the open sea. The powerful waves are ideal for surfing. You can ride along the beach and enjoy the magnificent sunsets.
Puerto Marqués
This small bay is nestled in mountains covered with tropical vegetation. Its waters are suitable for all kinds of aquatic activities, such as snorkeling, diving and sailing. Pony treks are also recommended.
Revolcadero
Revolcadero is one of the most beautiful and exotic beaches in the area. Set on the open sea, its rough waves are ideal for surfers.
Tecomate
Tecomate is 68 km east of Acapulco. It has dozens of Mangrove swamps where hundreds of sea birds come to feed. The area is ideal for swimming and sport fishing.
Tres Palos
Tres Palos is an ideal lagoon for hiring a boat and enjoying its exuberant vegetation and local fauna.
